Spectators: 6701 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1701, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Edgard Garrandes started the match with the kick off. After 4 played minutes Rayo FC got a freekick which was hit by Orain Espinareda. Ildefonso Somovilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Garrandes in the 6th minute of the match. In the 8th minute Charro Azcoitia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan-Alfredo Mazuelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rayo FC's Juan-Alfredo Mazuelo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charro Azcoitia in the 21st minute of play. Charro Azcoitia received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Juan-Alfredo Mazuelo came out and tried to block the shot, but Charro Azcoitia slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 22nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Esperanza's Charro Azcoitia slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Juan-Alfredo Mazuelo. That made the score 2-0 after 26 minutes of play. Isaac Serrano shot from long distance in the 29th minute, but Juan-Alfredo Mazuelo was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. If Oto Burgos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charro Azcoitia in the 38th minute of play forced Rayo FC's goalkeeper Juan-Alfredo Mazuelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute, Charro Azcoitia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Oto Burgos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

In the 52nd minute, Cordeara Santelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ildefonso Somovilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Garrandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Charro Azcoitia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esperanza's supporters rose to their feet, but Charro Azcoitia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juan-Alfredo Mazuelo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Francisco Ontanilla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 70th match minute, Esperanza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mateo Ciscal to maneuver through the defense. Francisco Ontanilla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ildefonso Somovilla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. After 72 minutes, Lucado Navariega mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esperanza and the Rayo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 72nd match minute, Esperanza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucado Navariega to maneuver through the defense. Oto Burgos charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oto Burgos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Rayo FC booed when Esperanza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oto Burgos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan-Alfredo Mazuelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charro Azcoitia in the 77th minute of play. Liberto Marsella kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frances Raigada during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 80th minute, one of Rayo FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rayo FC. In the 83rd minute there was a penalty for Esperanza. Pau Reganado stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Juan-Alfredo Mazuelo. 3-0. A collision led to Esperanza getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Inaki Borinaga hit a great ball. 92 minutes into the match, Esperanza's goalkeeper Ildefonso Somovilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Ontanilla. Oto Burgos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Juan-Alfredo Mazuelo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esperanza's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
