After having played for 3 minutes, Lain Reguero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salto FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lain Reguero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Muc Basanta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Balendin Berlanga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of C. A. Punta Carretas booed when Salto FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Muc Basanta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute, Bitxintxo Bares reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Balendin Berlanga. The goal made the score 1-0. 11 minutes into the game, Elija Eijo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C. A. Punta Carretas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Salto FC the free kick. Elija Eijo hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. C. A. Punta Carretas's Balendin Berlanga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bitxintxo Bares in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Muc Basanta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Balendin Berlanga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpected shot in the 23rd minute by Muc Basanta got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Balendin Berlanga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Muc Basanta in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute of the match Salto FC got a corner. C. A. Punta Carretas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lain Reguero ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Salto FC's Lain Reguero to fire away a dangerous shot which Balendin Berlanga despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Balendin Berlanga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bitxintxo Bares, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Bitxintxo Bares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bitxintxo Bares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bitxintxo Bares struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bitxintxo Bares couldn't finish the play. Juaneizu Pombo's late challenge caught a Salto FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juaneizu Pombo helped the player get up and apologised. After 77 played minutes C. A. Punta Carretas got a freekick which was hit by Juaneizu Pombo. Muc Basanta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, Bitxintxo Bares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in C. A. Punta Carretas's zone, Bitxintxo Bares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Balendin Berlanga came out of the goal and Bitxintxo Bares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bitxintxo Bares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Balendin Berlanga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Salto FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
