When Uruguay AFC's Isaac Cigüenza in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpected shot in the 48th minute by Hakan Ünsal got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hakan Ünsal to make the kick off.
