When Lixandro Lorenzo fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carmelo City's protests and gave Lixandro Lorenzo a yellow card for diving instead. Frederico Manzanos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Pinto Fominaya when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xizavier Bolaño in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Checa Masana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Chapicuy's zone, Ihintza Araujo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Checa Masana came out of the goal and Ihintza Araujo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Chapicuy getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Gilen Baeza hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute, Chapicuy's Sengrat Monasterio seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Sengrat Monasterio the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Chapicuy protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sengrat Monasterio had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Lixandro Lorenzo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pinto Fominaya came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Chapicuy's Gilen Baeza. But to his dismay, Gilen Baeza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Checa Masana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xizavier Bolaño in the 44th minute of the match. Checa Masana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xizavier Bolaño, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gabino Sama made a kick off. Carmelo City's Tano Castejana got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carmelo City's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xizavier Bolaño couldn't finish the play.
