After a defensive mix-up in Gonzamoon FC's zone, Berdoi Maluenda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reimundo Esquivias came out of the goal and Berdoi Maluenda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Telo Errazquin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jerrold Teijelo. Goregrind FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With his leg Reimundo Esquivias managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Goregrind FC's Severiano Herruz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Severiano Herruz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Reimundo Esquivias when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Telo Errazquin's late challenge caught a Goregrind FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Telo Errazquin helped the player get up and apologised. In the 33rd match minute, Gonzamoon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Telo Errazquin to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Severiano Herruz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goregrind FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Severiano Herruz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reimundo Esquivias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 36 minutes in the game, Severiano Herruz fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Reimundo Esquivias having to interfere. Berdoi Maluenda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reimundo Esquivias having to interfere. After 40 minutes, Oliverio Muriedas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Goregrind FC and the Gonzamoon FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
