Mambru Cotilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Eulalio Azpiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Polonio's Mambru Cotilla threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joselito Boladeras, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Polonio's Eulalio Azpiroz got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lisandro Titos struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Maria Tovilleja didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cerro Largo F. C.. Maria Tovilleja stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lisandro Titos's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cerro Largo F. C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
