Valery Francia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joselito Boladeras in the 12th minute of play. The supporters of Polonio booed when Borracho AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandro Cerrajero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valery Francia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eulalio Azpiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Manuelo Legaspe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maria Tovilleja having to interfere. After the first half Polonio were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 81st minute, Umbruso Tizon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 83 minutes into the match, Borracho AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Joselito Boladeras came free, but Valery Francia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valery Francia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Polonio. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Polonio eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
