Paio Samperio came out of the goal and Gomez Foronda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fortun Ribero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eudoxio Iros having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Brion Villafane managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huracan FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Brion Villafane was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eudoxio Iros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Paysandu defense, Brion Villafane kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eudoxio Iros. The Paysandu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eudoxio Iros should have stopped the shot. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brion Villafane couldn't finish the play. Alvaro Galban recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fortun Ribero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Eudoxio Iros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Sayvion Rendain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eudoxio Iros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Huracan FC's Fortun Ribero got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
