Eli Alaez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18th match minute, Merinos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ezequiel Iglesias to maneuver through the defense. Teodoro Isasaga came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Lazcano's Eli Alaez. But to his dismay, Eli Alaez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Eli Alaez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Lico Sayavedra might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Teodoro Isasaga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lico Sayavedra ran back to his position shaking his head. Eli Alaez might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Teodoro Isasaga. Eli Alaez ran back to his position shaking his head. 35 minutes into the match, Eli Alaez notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Merinos FC's Teodoro Isasaga. Teodoro Isasaga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 42 minutes, Eli Alaez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lazcano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eli Alaez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 45 minutes into the game, Maurilio Valda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Merinos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lazcano the free kick. Maurilio Valda kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Lico Sayavedra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodoro Isasaga having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Lico Sayavedra made the kick off in the second half. Merinos FC's Teodoro Isasaga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lico Sayavedra in the 51st minute of play. Errapel Buergo's late challenge caught a Lazcano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Errapel Buergo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd match minute, Merinos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Errapel Buergo to maneuver through the defense. Lazcano's Eli Alaez got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 58 minutes into the match, Lico Sayavedra dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Teodoro Isasaga, 0-3. Lico Sayavedra got in the 64th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Teodoro Isasaga handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Merinos FC's zone, Lico Sayavedra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teodoro Isasaga came out of the goal and Lico Sayavedra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 68th match minute, Merinos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Masseda to maneuver through the defense. Mergildo Llama's shot from long distance in the 68th minute was not bad at all, but Merinos FC's Teodoro Isasaga knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. If Lico Sayavedra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Merinos FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Ezequiel Iglesias hit a great ball. If Maria Prior had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Eli Alaez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lazcano's supporters rose to their feet, but Eli Alaez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodoro Isasaga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lico Sayavedra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodoro Isasaga having to interfere. Lico Sayavedra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Teodoro Isasaga having to make a save. Lazcano played a much better game than Merinos FC and deserved their victory. The Merinos FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
