The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arotza Covarrubias in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armando Pachon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 6 minutes into the game, CF Parque Batlle's Xacintu Saracha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonides Sagasti made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Urki Puentes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonides Sagasti having to interfere. Urki Puentes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Leonides Sagasti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arotza Covarrubias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Armando Pachon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Xacintu Saracha made a precise shot to the right of Leonides Sagasti. Peñarol de Corrales's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 24th match minute, CF Parque Batlle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pio Lardero to maneuver through the defense. In the last second Armando Pachon throw himself and got hold of the ball when Arotza Covarrubias in the 25thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After having played for 27 minutes, Arotza Covarrubias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peñarol de Corrales's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arotza Covarrubias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jesus Velon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Peñarol de Corrales's Leonides Sagasti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xacintu Saracha in the 34th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xacintu Saracha in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leonides Sagasti saved Peñarol de Corrales from getting behind. Leonides Sagasti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urki Puentes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armando Pachon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arotza Covarrubias in the 47th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Urki Puentes made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Arotza Covarrubias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peñarol de Corrales's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arotza Covarrubias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Urki Puentes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonides Sagasti having to interfere. In the 60th minute Mingo Areta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Pachon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Urki Puentes struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Leonides Sagasti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CF Parque Batlle. With a little luck, Peñarol de Corrales's Leonides Sagasti got control of the ball when Xacintu Saracha tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 68th match minute, CF Parque Batlle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesus Velon to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute Mingo Areta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Pachon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xacintu Saracha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mingo Areta hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Xacintu Saracha got free with Leonides Sagasti in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of CF Parque Batlle booed when Peñarol de Corrales was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baumer Paderniga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xacintu Saracha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Leonides Sagasti made a huge save. When Xacintu Saracha came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the CF Parque Batlle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xacintu Saracha couldn't finish the play. When the match was over CF Parque Batlle could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Peñarol de Corrales throughout the match.
