Vela Velunza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lourenco Talaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Lourenco Talaga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Vela Velunza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lourenco Talaga in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vela Velunza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dominix Olivencia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maju Mendaza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Roano Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maju Mendaza having to interfere. Dominix Olivencia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maju Mendaza having to make a save. Lourenco Talaga struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Vela Velunza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barker. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dominix Olivencia got free with Maju Mendaza in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 29 minutes into the match, Barker's goal looked a bit too open when Dominix Olivencia came free, but Maju Mendaza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roano Fernandezs short, quick shot in the 30thth minute got Maju Mendaza to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roano Fernandez got free with Maju Mendaza in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Apolo Irazabal charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Apolo Irazabal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Apolo Irazabal kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dominix Olivencia to make the kick off. Txerran Aladro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vela Velunza having to interfere. Maju Mendaza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dominix Olivencia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vela Velunza acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 58th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Eduardo Tejeido. Dominix Olivencia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 67 played minutes Velazquez FC got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Varez. Lourenco Talaga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute, Txerran Aladro made a precise shot to the right of Vela Velunza. Velazquez FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 79th minute, Alfonso Arizcun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Velazquez FC's Vela Velunza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lourenco Talaga in the 82nd minute of play. 84 minutes into the game, Dominix Olivencia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Maju Mendaza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 97th minute, Roano Fernandez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Velazquez FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Barker had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
