The referee ignored Palmeiras's protests and gave Iparragirre Bacete a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Palmeiras getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Iparragirre Bacete hit a great ball. Algot Malmgren succeeded in the game's 43rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. With an all-out effort, Palmeiras's Bastian Fuentetaja threw himself towards the right post 71 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Algot Malmgren, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Feo Echarri charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Algot Malmgren who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Bastian Fuentetaja when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
