An unexpectedly hard shot by Gumaro Ruidiaz in the 42nd minute of play forced Locomotora FC's goalkeeper Beltran Santayana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Errapel Martines made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Errapel Martines in the 54th minute of play forced Locomotora FC's goalkeeper Beltran Santayana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gumaro Ruidiaz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Beltran Santayana made a huge save. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Beltran Santayana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Errapel Martines recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gabon Diosdado kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 89th minute Errapel Martines shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beltran Santayana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Errapel Martines fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Gabon Diosdado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Severiano Solbeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Locomotora FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Riachuelo's performance. The match ended with a win for Riachuelo.
