After 12 played minutes Rivera got a freekick which was hit by Chesus Motel. Frichoso Armenta, 13 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Rivera's Montel Reinosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Canor Jauregui in the 16th minute of play. If Atarratze Bujan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st match minute, Novillos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leoiar Ozana to maneuver through the defense. Gonzo Gabriel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulino Lima having to interfere. Atarratze Bujan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Rivera booed when Novillos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Taurino Cura didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Atarratze Bujan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gonzo Gabriel scored 0-1 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulino Lima, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 36th minute, Chesus Motel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rivera fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Montel Reinosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Canor Jauregui in the 39th minute of the match. Novillos FC's Malvin Closa got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Canor Jauregui kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 46th minute, Atarratze Bujan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Novillos FC's Paulino Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atarratze Bujan in the 48th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Atarratze Bujan was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes, Leoiar Ozana made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Rivera's Montel Reinosa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 59th minute, Novillos FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Chesus Motel fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 81st minute, Taurino Cura got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Rivera's Chesus Motel got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Montel Reinosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Malvin Closa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, Canor Jauregui got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Leoiar Ozana fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Novillos FC's protests and gave Leoiar Ozana a yellow card for diving instead. If Gonzo Gabriel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulino Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Atarratze Bujan in the 92nd minute of play. With a little luck, Novillos FC's Paulino Lima got control of the ball when Gonzo Gabriel tried to sneak it across the goal line. During the 95th minute of the match Leoiar Ozana completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Leoiar Ozana a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Leoiar Ozana hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The Rivera supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rivera would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
