But to his dismay, Ofelio Moneo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Thomas Santelices managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mercedes FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomas Santelices was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Telesforo Cuebas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Txomin Granell struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Jonatan Traspalacios didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sauce. 14 minutes into the match, Sauce's goal looked a bit too open when Ofelio Moneo came free, but Telesforo Cuebas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sauce's Nikola Udobro pulled a muscle in his leg after 14 minutes and couldn't finish the game. A collision led to Mercedes FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. The Sauce fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Telesforo Cuebas should have stopped the shot. Jonatan Traspalacios took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Txomin Granell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Txomin Granell came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Sauce fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Txomin Granell couldn't finish the play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ofelio Moneo to make the kick off. Jonatan Traspalacios didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Niceto Bares went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. 59 minutes into the match, Sauce's goalkeeper Telesforo Cuebas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thomas Santelices. The audience was convinced that Ofelio Moneo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Telesforo Cuebas was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Txomin Granell in the 67th minute of play forced Mercedes FC's goalkeeper Jonatan Traspalacios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niceto Bares helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Mercedes FC booed when Sauce was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niceto Bares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonatan Traspalacios showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Txomin Granell, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. If Txomin Granell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute Txomin Granell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonatan Traspalacios saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Mercedes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Txomin Granell came free, but Jonatan Traspalacios reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Niceto Bares came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Sauce fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niceto Bares couldn't finish the play. The Sauce supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Mercedes FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Mercedes FC.
