Mingo Oliveros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramirez Jene in the 13th minute of play. Salto's Jose Magadan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Muno Forteza in the 16th minute of play. Mingo Oliveros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramirez Jene, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Varese's Muno Forteza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jose Magadan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Muno Forteza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Jose Magadan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Muno Forteza struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Jose Magadan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varese.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gines Cavite to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Muno Forteza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varese's supporters rose to their feet, but Muno Forteza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jose Magadan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ramirez Jene received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Mingo Oliveros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Varese's goalkeeper Mingo Oliveros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Ramirez Jene managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salto's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramirez Jene was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mingo Oliveros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Varese defense, Ramirez Jene kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mingo Oliveros. The Varese fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mingo Oliveros should have stopped the shot. If Ramirez Jene had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gines Cavite in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mingo Oliveros saved Varese from getting behind. The supporters of Varese booed when Salto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rik Recemill didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jose Magadan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sotil Voces in the 77th minute of the match. When Sotil Voces came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Varese fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sotil Voces couldn't finish the play. Jose Magadan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Muno Forteza in the 87th minute of the match. Jose Magadan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sotil Voces, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Sotil Voces notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Salto's Jose Magadan. Jose Magadan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Sotil Voces had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Salto's Ferdinand Loinaz got a free kick in the 96th minute. Muno Forteza struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Jose Magadan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varese.
