An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisito Sever in the 2nd minute of play forced Peñarol Prado's goalkeeper Niceto Ozaeta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th minute, Zernin Mendizabal fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Scavino's Lawrence Tato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paublo Echavarria in the 12th minute of play. After 15 minutes, Maria Belo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Peñarol Prado and the Scavino players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Peñarol Prado's Maria Belo got a free kick in the 15th minute. Damario Adrian's late challenge caught a Peñarol Prado's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Damario Adrian helped the player get up and apologised. After 18 played minutes Scavino got a freekick which was hit by Damario Adrian. In the 19thth minute of the game Paublo Echavarria who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Scavino's Lawrence Tato was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 22nd minute, Rocendo Sarantes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lawrence Tato was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Lawrence Tato showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rocendo Sarantes in the 26th minute of the match. After having played for 29 minutes, Zernin Mendizabal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scavino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zernin Mendizabal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Niceto Ozaeta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisito Sever, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 37 minutes, Rocendo Sarantes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peñarol Prado's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rocendo Sarantes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Castel Bazan fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Scavino's protests and gave Castel Bazan a yellow card for diving instead. Jeremias Bultron walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. If Musko Anda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luisito Sever was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Rocendo Sarantes took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Lawrence Tato to make any attempt to save it. In the 55th minute Rocendo Sarantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lawrence Tato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Lawrence Tato managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Peñarol Prado's Paublo Echavarria fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpected shot in the 60th minute by Rocendo Sarantes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 65 minutes into the match, Scavino's goalkeeper Lawrence Tato had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paublo Echavarria. Koldobika Viñambre hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zernin Mendizabal in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Niceto Ozaeta saved Peñarol Prado from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paublo Echavarria got free with Lawrence Tato in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rocendo Sarantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Lawrence Tato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th match minute, Scavino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bela Rogel to maneuver through the defense. Lawrence Tato made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Paublo Echavarria sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rocendo Sarantes in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lawrence Tato prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Zernin Mendizabal might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Niceto Ozaeta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zernin Mendizabal ran back to his position shaking his head. Luisito Sever received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Niceto Ozaeta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 91 played minutes Peñarol Prado got a freekick which was hit by Xorxe Laine.
