The crowd rose to their feet as Atlantida FC's Txilar Obaldia slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Belmiro Villaraud. That made the score 1-0 after 14 minutes of play. In the 17th minute, Calisto Casares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Atlantida FC's zone, Ezequiel Incera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rai Gallinas came out of the goal and Ezequiel Incera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xzavion Lucas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Rai Gallinas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rai Gallinas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezequiel Incera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Ezequiel Incera notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Atlantida FC's Rai Gallinas. Rai Gallinas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rai Gallinas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezequiel Incera in the 33rd minute of play. With 34 minutes on the clock, Cayetano Abrea commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 33 minutes into the game, one of Escudero:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Pelayo Carrete shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Ezequiel Incera took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rai Gallinas. Atlantida FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 41st minute, Xzavion Lucas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Goncalve Gavilan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Rai Gallinas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Xzavion Lucas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Escudero fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xzavion Lucas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Atlantida FC's goalkeeper Rai Gallinas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xzavion Lucas. In the 58th minute of the match Jeremy Borjas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Belmiro Villaraud skillfully saved the ball. When Goncalve Gavilan came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Escudero fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Goncalve Gavilan couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Xzavion Lucas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rai Gallinas was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. 64 minutes into the match, Escudero's goal looked a bit too open when Txilar Obaldia came free, but Belmiro Villaraud reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Escudero's Goncalve Gavilan got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
