The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fernanco Sota struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Bernabel Merlo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Machado AFC. Timoteo Cepeda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Bernabel Merlo made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Machado AFC's Celino Chirinos got a free kick in the 6th minute. Cerrito FC's Bernabel Merlo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Cerrito FC from getting a goal against them. If Timoteo Cepeda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Fernanco Sota came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Machado AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernanco Sota couldn't finish the play. Dimo Mocellar charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dimo Mocellar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dimo Mocellar kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Bernabel Merlo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernanco Sota in the 16th minute. With a little luck, Cerrito FC's Bernabel Merlo got control of the ball when Fernanco Sota tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27th minute, Fabian Cuba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jerold Pallares shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Cerrito FC's Fabian Cuba got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bernabel Merlo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timoteo Cepeda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Florencio Galdamez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Cuba in the 44th minute of play. Dimo Badillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florencio Galdamez having to interfere. Bernabel Merlo came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Machado AFC's Fernanco Sota. But to his dismay, Fernanco Sota quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

A collision led to Cerrito FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Mikolas Parandones hit a great ball. Dimo Badillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Machado AFC's Florencio Galdamez got control of the ball when Fabian Cuba tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fernanco Sota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Bernabel Merlo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Dimo Badillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Machado AFC's goalkeeper Florencio Galdamez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Machado AFC's Florencio Galdamez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dimo Badillo in the 79th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Dimo Badillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Florencio Galdamez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabian Cuba in the 83rd minute. 85 minutes into the match, Cerrito FC's Dimo Badillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Florencio Galdamez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Semeno Amieva hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Bernabel Merlo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timoteo Cepeda in the 91st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Machado AFC's Bizi Acaro got a free kick in the 94th minute. 97 minutes into the match, Machado AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Dimo Badillo came free, but Florencio Galdamez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabian Cuba could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 99th minute of the match, but Florencio Galdamez made a huge save. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
