With an extended leg and a bit of luck Liher Pantojas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Liher Pantojas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bladi Legorburu in the 4th minute of play. When Paulino Salceda came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Penarol fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulino Salceda couldn't finish the play. Luis-Antonio Araoz kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Bladi Legorburu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Weterio Lugardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauren Cadimo having to interfere. Lazcano Rubian hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After having played for 21 minutes, Gerardo Pons managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cardozo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerardo Pons was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Weterio Lugardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Lauren Cadimo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute Weterio Lugardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauren Cadimo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lauren Cadimo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Weterio Lugardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Penarol's goalkeeper Lauren Cadimo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gerardo Pons. When Cardozo's Weterio Lugardo in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Penarol's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Cardozo getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Lazcano Rubian hit a great ball. Paulino Salceda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Weterio Lugardo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lauren Cadimo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. After 75 played minutes Cardozo got a freekick which was hit by Kaiet Belarrinaga. Lauren Cadimo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerardo Pons, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 87 played minutes Cardozo got a freekick which was hit by Luis-Antonio Araoz. It was beautiful to see Penarol's Xavierlada Gimenez in action when he in the 89th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! 92 minutes into the game, Cardozo's Weterio Lugardo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lauren Cadimo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Paulino Salceda hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. If Gerardo Pons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 99th minute, Bladi Legorburu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
