In the 16th minute, Beat Cenal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Esperanza FC's Burni Ozaeta got a free kick in the 16th minute. When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Paulino Salceda sped through Esperanza FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cordarin Benagassi. If Mitxaut Buey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Penarol's Chuan Carragal suffered a sore thigh after 25 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 25 minutes, Ebardo Navagos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esperanza FC and the Penarol players grew even worse after the yellow card. Beat Cenal succeeded in the game's 33rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Beat Cenal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Penarol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bladi Legorburu to maneuver through the defense. Cordarin Benagassi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulino Salceda in the 56th minute of the match. Mitxaut Buey kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Paulino Salceda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cordarin Benagassi having to interfere. Esperanza FC's Burni Ozaeta got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bladi Legorburu kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Esperanza FC's Burni Ozaeta ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lauren Cadimo. Lauren Cadimo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Esperanza FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
