Geofredo Ricoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernal Cantiello having to interfere. Geofredo Ricoy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernal Cantiello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geofredo Ricoy in the 14th minute of the match. When Acosta's Gipuzkoa Sancha in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geofredo Ricoy in the 18th minute of play forced C.A.Peñarol's goalkeeper Bernal Cantiello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernal Cantiello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geofredo Ricoy in the 20th minute of the match. In the 25thth minute of the game Geofredo Ricoy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A.Peñarol's Bernal Cantiello was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geofredo Ricoy in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernal Cantiello saved C.A.Peñarol from getting behind. The referee ignored C.A.Peñarol's protests and gave Noe Roqueñi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to C.A.Peñarol getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Noe Roqueñi hit a great ball. In the 30thth minute of the game Geofredo Ricoy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A.Peñarol's Bernal Cantiello was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bernal Cantiello didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geofredo Ricoy went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geofredo Ricoy in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernal Cantiello saved C.A.Peñarol from getting behind. C.A.Peñarol's Bernal Cantiello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gipuzkoa Sancha in the 41st minute of play. Gipuzkoa Sancha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Bernal Cantiello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, C.A.Peñarol's goal looked a bit too open when Gipuzkoa Sancha came free, but Bernal Cantiello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geofredo Ricoy to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Geofredo Ricoy recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bernal Cantiello. Geofredo Ricoy showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. 57 minutes into the match, C.A.Peñarol's goal looked a bit too open when Geofredo Ricoy came free, but Bernal Cantiello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gipuzkoa Sancha got free with Bernal Cantiello in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Geofredo Ricoy took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Bernal Cantiello to make any attempt to save it. 65 minutes into the game, Acosta's Gipuzkoa Sancha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bernal Cantiello made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. C.A.Peñarol's Bernal Cantiello proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save C.A.Peñarol from getting a goal against them. Bernal Cantiello stood somewhat misplaced when Geofredo Ricoy came free in front of goal and shot 0-6 to the left of him in the 73 minute. 78 minutes into the game, Gipuzkoa Sancha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Bernal Cantiello was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Geofredo Ricoy was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 81st minute. Acosta's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Gipuzkoa Sancha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Bernal Cantiello made a huge save. Bernal Cantiello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geofredo Ricoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. If Gipuzkoa Sancha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute Geofredo Ricoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernal Cantiello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
