Marcelino Bengoa came out of the goal and Paulo Gadañon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Godofredo Boces to make the kick off. In the 54th minute Godofredo Boces shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelino Bengoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Prudentio Forteza in the 56th minute of play forced Pedernal's goalkeeper Niolaao Mallo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelino Bengoa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Prudentio Forteza might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Niolaao Mallo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Prudentio Forteza ran back to his position shaking his head. Godofredo Boces might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcelino Bengoa. Marcelino Bengoa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Pedernal had won after a very even match.
