After a rather tough play, Abrojal's Marcelino Valls got a free kick in the 2nd minute. If Caetano Soto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Abrojal booed when Montes AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Ibias didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute, Justo Lodeña had to leave the field with a concussion. Orlando Ibias's late challenge caught a Abrojal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cilio Pravia couldn't finish the play. The Abrojal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zarbonin Arnao should have stopped the shot. In the 44th minute, Ugutz Villaseca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Cilio Pravia came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Montes AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cilio Pravia couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iigo Pelegri made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Cilio Pravia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Zarbonin Arnao. The goal made the score 0-2. 60 minutes into the match, Abrojal's goal looked a bit too open when Cilio Pravia came free, but Zarbonin Arnao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abrojal's Iigo Pelegri got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 72 minutes into the game, Xuoco Amescua was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Abrojal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montes AFC the free kick. Xuoco Amescua hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. If Cilio Pravia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Montes AFC's Elorri Carballal got a free kick in the 82nd minute. With a little luck, Abrojal's Zarbonin Arnao got control of the ball when Christobal Iza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cilio Pravia might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zarbonin Arnao. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cilio Pravia ran back to his position shaking his head. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Montes AFC's Cilio Pravia in the 89th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Zarbonin Arnao was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Abrojal through an amazing save. Montes AFC's Ugutz Villaseca got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Montes AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
