After a defensive mix-up in Canelones F.C's zone, Dorio Vivero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Ceraso came out of the goal and Dorio Vivero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 18th match minute, Echeverry AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tobias Ontiveros to maneuver through the defense. Echeverry AFC's Aresti Posadas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo Talaya in the 20th minute of play. When Geraldo Talaya came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Canelones F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geraldo Talaya couldn't finish the play. 33 minutes into the game, Canelones F.C's Geraldo Talaya nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
