Anaya Ocampo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Faron Campusano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Canelones FC's goal looked a bit too open when Intxixu Rovira came free, but Edgardo Mendana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Canelones FC's Sebastian Cigüenza ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Faron Campusano. Faron Campusano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Sebastian Cigüenza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faron Campusano having to interfere. Canelones FC's Edgardo Mendana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Intxixu Rovira in the 32nd minute of play. If Anaya Ocampo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 46 played minutes El Equipo Aurinegro got a freekick which was hit by Clemente Castroverde. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sebastian Cigüenza made a kick off. In the 56th minute, Maiorga Botbol made a precise shot to the right of Edgardo Mendana. Canelones FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. 59 minutes into the match, Maiorga Botbol had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgardo Mendana. Canelones FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maiorga Botbol was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After 61 played minutes El Equipo Aurinegro got a freekick which was hit by Ixaka Ubilla. Faron Campusano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Cigüenza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute, Elivareo Barra left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Canelones FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. When Filipe Rodrigo fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canelones FC's protests and gave Filipe Rodrigo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd minute, Filipe Rodrigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 77 minutes, Maiorga Botbol managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Equipo Aurinegro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maiorga Botbol was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Canelones FC's Sebastian Cigüenza got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Anaya Ocampo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Faron Campusano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th minute Sebastian Cigüenza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faron Campusano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faron Campusano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Cigüenza, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. If Anaya Ocampo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Canelones FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
