Victoro Celada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xan Guaras having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Millan Oger stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Txeru Santiago hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Licerio Cantera during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Artigas's Licerio Cantera got a free kick in the 59th minute. Club Deportivo Artigas's Xan Guaras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Millan Oger in the 79th minute of play. When Millan Oger came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Uruguay AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Millan Oger couldn't finish the play.
