Fernando Oteo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Ulises Laiz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 40th minute, Bartoleme Adan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bartoleme Adan got free with Ulises Laiz in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kiliz Apellaniz made a kick off. In the 64th match minute, Lavalleja was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Oteo to maneuver through the defense. Socorro Ferragudo came out of the goal and Kiliz Apellaniz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Kiliz Apellaniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bartoleme Adan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ulises Laiz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Bartoleme Adan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulises Laiz having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Bartoleme Adan made a precise shot to the right of Ulises Laiz. Velasquez AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 98th match minute, Velasquez AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berbiz Campuzano to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lavalleja fans cheered their team off the field, for while Velasquez AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
