Spectators: 6776 (Terracing: 5575, Seating: 1201, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Xayveon Morquecho started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute Ricart Peñalba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ditlev Svart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xarles Arruta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hulberto Barquin in the 8th minute of the match. In the 9th match minute, Defensa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milio Inestrosa to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Hulberto Barquin put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Xarles Arruta. In the 20th minute Hulberto Barquin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xarles Arruta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilvan Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xarles Arruta having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricart Peñalba during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ricart Peñalba hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Ditlev Svart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Weather Santirso in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute Ricart Peñalba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ditlev Svart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ditlev Svart came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Defensa's Xayveon Morquecho. But to his dismay, Xayveon Morquecho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Ditlev Svart took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricart Peñalba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Scavino's Gaston Bono got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 51st match minute, Defensa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Semeno Espin to maneuver through the defense. Yago Beytia made in the 53rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ihazintu Veidazar however managed to control. 56 minutes into the match, Scavino's goalkeeper Ditlev Svart had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricart Peñalba. In the 60th match minute, Scavino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnoldo Buyolo to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute, one of Scavino:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Scavino. When the match had been going on for 67 minutes, Defensa's Xayveon Morquecho got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ditlev Svart. Ditlev Svart made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Ricart Peñalba sent off a good shot on target. Arnoldo Buyolo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 79 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute, Xayveon Morquecho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 83rd match minute, Defensa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricart Peñalba to maneuver through the defense. Ditlev Svart made an important save on a dangerous shot by Weather Santirso in the 85th minute. After having played for 87 minutes, Xayveon Morquecho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Defensa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xayveon Morquecho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Artemio Castelao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Scavino's Ditlev Svart played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xayveon Morquecho in the 94th minute of play. Hulberto Barquin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Defensa's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
