Gauargi Moro might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ruy Norato. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gauargi Moro ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 20th minute, Bazkoare Burgoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Merinos AFC! In the 22nd minute there was a penalty for Santiago. Vincente Devalla stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ruy Norato. 1-1. Pau Pillado might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Piearres Fuertes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The tension between the Merinos AFC and the Santiago players grew even worse after the yellow card. Serafo Mascaran kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Pau Pillado might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Piearres Fuertes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sadurni Berga in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ruy Norato prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ruy Norato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sadurni Berga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ekain Fontoya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute Gauargi Moro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruy Norato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
