Rivera's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itapebi the free kick. In the 46th minute, Chuse Frexes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After having played for 52 minutes, Birjaio Hontoria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapebi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Birjaio Hontoria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Luciano Tixido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Birjaio Hontoria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itapebi's supporters rose to their feet, but Birjaio Hontoria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kaiet Oñatibia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Urdaspal Campillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kaiet Oñatibia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luciano Tixido in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th minute Luciano Tixido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaiet Oñatibia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luciano Tixido sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 68 minutes into the match, Rivera's goal looked a bit too open when Urdaspal Campillo came free, but Kaiet Oñatibia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roano Parga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frisco Portero, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 74 minutes into the match, Xurde Rogel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roano Parga. Itapebi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xurde Rogel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Xurde Rogel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xurde Rogel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Roano Parga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Rivera's Frisco Portero in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Itapebi's goalie prevented a goal. Itapebi's Roano Parga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Itapebi from getting a goal against them. In the 91st minute, Cristobal Azpe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Itapebi's Roano Parga got control of the ball when Xurde Rogel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Birjaio Hontoria struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Kaiet Oñatibia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itapebi. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Rivera walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
