In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Varese's goalkeeper Cordero Bolivar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pinera FC's Andy Cordovilla got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cordero Bolivar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Etxahun Alberca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Varese getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Ellande Olaechea hit a great ball. After having played for 23 minutes, Etxahun Alberca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pinera FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Etxahun Alberca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Pinera FC's goalkeeper Vimaro Valbaler had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Haritzeder Vigo. After a rather tough play, Pinera FC's Natalio Tello got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After 35 played minutes Pinera FC got a freekick which was hit by Josue Uranga. Tiago Barrial didn't quite understand what happened when in the 36 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Etxahun Alberca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cordero Bolivar having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
