The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Echevarria's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tiago Villa in the 5th minute. Narciso Cuffaro struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Grabiel Narbona didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Echevarria. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eufemio Zapata in the 19th minute of play forced City Park's goalkeeper Grabiel Narbona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Narciso Cuffaro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osorio Irastorza got free with Gonzo Elias in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 30th minute, Odilon Oñativia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Eufemio Zapata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Ospin Afraga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Narciso Cuffaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ospin Afraga made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Narciso Cuffaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Echevarria's supporters rose to their feet, but Narciso Cuffaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Grabiel Narbona breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 55 minutes into the match, City Park's Osorio Irastorza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gonzo Elias narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eufemio Zapata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Grabiel Narbona tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grabiel Narbona stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eufemio Zapata's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Narciso Cuffaro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Grabiel Narbona made a huge save. In the 70th minute Osorio Irastorza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonzo Elias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to City Park getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Azubeli Pacios hit a great ball. Gonzo Elias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osorio Irastorza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, Eufemio Zapata dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Grabiel Narbona, 0-3. When Grabiel Horduña fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Echevarria's protests and gave Grabiel Horduña a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd minute, Grabiel Horduña hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 94 minutes into the match, Echevarria's goal looked a bit too open when Osorio Irastorza came free, but Gonzo Elias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 97 minutes into the match, City Park's goalkeeper Grabiel Narbona had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Narciso Cuffaro. Echevarria played a much better game than City Park and deserved their victory. The City Park players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
