Xizavier Arzola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Salvatore Alzolaras, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. But to his dismay, Yiyo Iribarria quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

After 56 minutes, Xinto Juarez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Duranzo and the Trinidad FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rameriz Vizcaino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Balasi Hortero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. If Salvatore Alzolaras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duranzo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
