To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 47 minutes, Intxixu Ordax managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Potencia F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Intxixu Ordax was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Intxixu Ordax stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Reno Ibarrola fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Potencia F.C.'s protests and gave Reno Ibarrola a yellow card for diving instead. Reno Ibarrola hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Benat Monje made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermelando Luciano in the 66th minute of play. A collision led to CA Penarol getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Valerio Canel hit a great ball. In the 76th match minute, CA Penarol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ysidro Almendras to maneuver through the defense. Hermelando Luciano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Intxixu Ordax's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benat Monje was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Intxixu Ordax recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benat Monje made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Intxixu Ordax in the 86th minute of play. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind CA Penarol's goalkeeper Benat Monje, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
