Eneko Edeon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeru Herrea, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Otoniel Rafecas's late challenge caught a Fenerbache F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Otoniel Rafecas helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Fenerbache F.C booed when Paysandú FCU was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otoniel Rafecas didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gombal Cañal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th minute, Chucho Urrutia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mane Taboada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otoniel Rafecas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Otoniel Rafecas in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mane Taboada prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eneko Edeon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lugo Contreras in the 29th minute. Eneko Edeon came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Fenerbache F.C's Aurken Guardamino. But to his dismay, Aurken Guardamino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 34th minute, Gombal Cañal made a precise shot to the right of Mane Taboada. Fenerbache F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 37th minute Zeru Herrea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eneko Edeon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otoniel Rafecas in the 39th minute of play forced Fenerbache F.C's goalkeeper Mane Taboada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute Paysandú FCU were awarded a corner. Gombal Cañal went to the cornerflag to take it. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Prejun Peinador advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-2 in the 40th minute. 45 minutes into the game, Ekhi Paredes threw the ball into play from the sideline. Paysandú FCU's Mitxel Moyuelo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otoniel Rafecas in the 45th minute of play forced Fenerbache F.C's goalkeeper Mane Taboada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Otoniel Rafecas to strike the kick off in the second half. If Vedillo Cigüenza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eneko Edeon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lugo Contreras went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. 78 minutes into the game, Otoniel Rafecas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mane Taboada. Otoniel Rafecas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Otoniel Rafecas took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mane Taboada. Mane Taboada dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. In the 88th minute, Gombal Cañal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gombal Cañal in the 90th minute of play forced Fenerbache F.C's goalkeeper Mane Taboada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gombal Cañal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Mane Taboada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 95 minutes, Mitxel Moyuelo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paysandú FCU and the Fenerbache F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mitxel Moyuelo hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. When the final whistle went the supporters of Paysandú FCU were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Fenerbache F.C side.
