The supporters of Ideal de Montevideo booed when Mendoza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zuri Heras didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cordaro Herriaga hit a great ball. In the 72nd minute of the match Harkaitz Gambo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hustaz Perma skillfully saved the ball. After 78 played minutes Mendoza got a freekick which was hit by Laurendi Morell. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Lopes Arzalaga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ideal de Montevideo's supporters rose to their feet, but Lopes Arzalaga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ariel Mathey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Llorenc Tobar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Ariel Mathey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mendoza fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ideal de Montevideo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
