After 9 played minutes Paysandú FCU got a freekick which was hit by Mantzio Baragaño. Lapurdi Calzada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Eneko Edeon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xilo Avecilla kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Paysandú FCU's Otoniel Rafecas got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paysandú FCU's Eneko Edeon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lapurdi Calzada in the 27th minute of play. Urdin Labora took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otoniel Rafecas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Socorro Antoñana hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the match, Lapurdi Cerdeño had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Urdin Labora. Memento mori's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lapurdi Cerdeño was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 37 minutes, Feliciano Moreno mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Memento mori and the Paysandú FCU players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Memento mori's Feliciano Moreno got a free kick in the 37th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Otoniel Rafecas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Memento mori booed when Paysandú FCU was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otoniel Rafecas didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Mino Artolozaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Paysandú FCU's Saturnino Velasquez got a free kick in the 59th minute. After 61 played minutes Paysandú FCU got a freekick which was hit by Saturnino Velasquez. An unexpectedly hard shot by Muc Amandi in the 67th minute of play forced Memento mori's goalkeeper Urdin Labora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Urdin Labora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otoniel Rafecas in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th match minute, Paysandú FCU was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mantzio Baragaño to maneuver through the defense. If Mino Artolozaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Urdin Labora didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Otoniel Rafecas went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 88th minute, Gombal Cañal made a precise shot to the right of Urdin Labora. Memento mori's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Paysandú FCU's Inaki Arechavala was substituted for Lapurdi Cerdeño. After some careless play in the Memento mori defense, Otoniel Rafecas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Urdin Labora. The Memento mori fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Urdin Labora should have stopped the shot. Paysandú FCU's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
