The referee ignored atletico de madrid's protests and gave Maureo Riegas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, Robustiano Peruanton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bartolo Bachicabo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho Lira having to interfere. Jorginho Lira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fortun Corrillos's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Jorginho Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fortun Corrillos in the 67th minute of play. Cordario Pierredonda's late challenge caught a atletico de madrid's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorginho Lira made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Bartolo Bachicabo sent off a good shot on target. 74 minutes into the game, Selatse Cantillo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jorginho Lira. Selatse Cantillo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. Jorginho Lira was out of position in the 79 minute of play, and Robustiano Peruanton capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Robustiano Peruanton really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. The Oylimpiamos Ψ fans' excitement grew in the 82nd match minute when Oylimpiamos Ψ's Chuse Nurueña looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-8 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 88 minutes into the match, Harry Carson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jorginho Lira. atletico de madrid's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Harry Carson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-9.
