Arturo Balendin was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Arif Ensar Rafiz. 38 minutes into the match, Defensor Sporting Club's goal looked a bit too open when George Hagi came free, but Golaki Era reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute George Hagi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Golaki Era saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Roldan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Arturo Balendin made a huge save. 41 minutes into the game, Nueva Chicago's George Hagi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Golaki Era made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Golaki Era made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Widodo 黄忠 in the 44th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A collision led to Nueva Chicago getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Gwidon Niezywy hit a great ball. When Felix Roldan came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Defensor Sporting Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Roldan couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Roldan in the 54th minute of play forced Nueva Chicago's goalkeeper Arturo Balendin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, George Hagi put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Golaki Era. After 60 minutes of play, Nueva Chicago's Jerardo Bueno made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Golaki Era was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arturo Balendin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Roldan, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After taking down the ball on Nueva Chicago's corner Gwidon Niezywy fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Golaki Era quite easily take care of the ball. Golaki Era showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerardo Bueno in the 71st minute of the match. Golaki Era showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerardo Bueno, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Hagi in the 86th minute of play forced Defensor Sporting Club's goalkeeper Golaki Era to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nueva Chicago were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after Defensor Sporting Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gwidon Niezywy took the corner. The audience was convinced that Sun Han's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Golaki Era was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. 92 minutes into the game, Josef Kugler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Defensor Sporting Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nueva Chicago the free kick.
