The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Atletico Maturrango's Weather Piedrahita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 2nd minute of the match, managed to save Atletico Maturrango from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elizardo Massana in the 64th minute of play forced Atletico Maturrango's goalkeeper Weather Piedrahita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Florencio Herbella's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cordairo Segura read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Atletico Maturrango's Florencio Herbella sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cordairo Segura narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Carqueja getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Elizardo Massana hit a great ball. Atletico Maturrango made a substitution. Ederono Ojero replaced Florencio Herbella. Carqueja made a substitution. Uzuri Zamarripa replaced Franco Garro. Atletico Maturrango's Orlin Hinojosa was substituted for Lucas Sardaneta.
