An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Bizama in the 13th minute of play forced COPIAPO's goalkeeper Epifanío Menichetti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute Edgardo Berrio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tanausu Zubiete saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the COPIAPO defense, Efraín Arrate kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Epifanío Menichetti. The COPIAPO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Epifanío Menichetti should have stopped the shot. In the 35th minute, Chena FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Podador Aguirrebeña fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 36 minutes into the game, Felipo Argomedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chena FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave COPIAPO the free kick. Felipo Argomedo kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. With a little luck, Chena FC's Tanausu Zubiete got control of the ball when Podador Aguirrebeña tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Chena FC booed when COPIAPO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Taurino Bolados didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chena FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Pepe Alveal in the 48th minute.

Chena FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Efraín Arrate was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Epifanío Menichetti came out and tried to block the shot, but Efraín Arrate slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 93rd minute. In the 98thth minute of the game Efraín Arrate who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but COPIAPO's Epifanío Menichetti was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chena FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
