The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the match, Gutijane's goalkeeper Honorato Marticorena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manuelo Ordaz. 18 minutes into the match, Gutijane's goal looked a bit too open when Cristián Sire came free, but Honorato Marticorena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honorato Marticorena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristián Sire in the 19th minute. Eufemio Doberti scored 0-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Waldir Bastos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 30 minutes into the match, Chimbarongo's goal looked a bit too open when Asier Pena came free, but Waldir Bastos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabricio Senen hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Asier Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. In the 37th minute, Cristián Sire fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Honorato Marticorena, passed just outside the right post. Manuelo Ordaz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Honorato Marticorena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, Gutijane's goal looked a bit too open when Cristián Sire came free, but Honorato Marticorena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Filipo Canto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Waldir Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Gutijane were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cristián Sire stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Manuelo Ordaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laurín Koch kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Theobald Madariaga's late challenge caught a Chimbarongo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Theobald Madariaga helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gutijane fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 66th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Chimbarongo a penalty, 68 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rogelio Iratxo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gutijane's Honorato Marticorena. 1-2. Gutijane's Honorato Marticorena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuelo Ordaz in the 72nd minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Ruperto Bermund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Asier Pena struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Waldir Bastos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gutijane. Manuelo Ordaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorato Marticorena having to interfere. Honorato Marticorena came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Chimbarongo's Cristián Sire. But to his dismay, Cristián Sire quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2.
