Spectators: 6713 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1713, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Benito Pairoa started the match with the kick off. In the 8th minute, Félix Feres left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Varrillar FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Benito Pairoa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Alex Mozo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute Benito Pairoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Mozo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Ceandro Malfanti could shoot a difficult shot in the 19th minute, which Héctor Liendo however easily saved by the left post. 20 minutes into the match, Varrillar FC's Félix Feres sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alex Mozo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Félix Feres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alex Mozo was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Ceandro Malfanti struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Héctor Liendo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guailla AFC. Ceandro Malfanti might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Héctor Liendo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ceandro Malfanti ran back to his position shaking his head. After 29 played minutes Varrillar FC got a freekick which was hit by Sansón Sanabria. After a defensive mix-up in Guailla AFC's zone, Félix Feres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alex Mozo came out of the goal and Félix Feres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Guailla AFC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Héctor Anthony hit a great ball. Bermejo Detmer, 40 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Benito Pairoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Félix Feres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varrillar FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Félix Feres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alex Mozo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vinos Alba stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ceandro Malfanti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Varrillar FC's Héctor Liendo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinos Alba in the 57th minute of play. Sansón Sanabria hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Félix Feres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Héctor Liendo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinos Alba, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Vinos Alba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guailla AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vinos Alba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Héctor Liendo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Varrillar FC played a much better game than Guailla AFC and deserved their victory. The Guailla AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
