Carora's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lampa FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Carora's Alipio Zaror got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 6th minute Amadeo Arduengo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio Ventura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Stefano Deves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricard Languard in the 13th minute of play forced Lampa FC's goalkeeper Luciano Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ricard Languard in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luciano Brito saved Lampa FC from getting behind. The supporters of Lampa FC booed when Carora was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Amezqueta didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Fernán Encalada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Claudio Ventura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeo Arduengo in the 25th minute of the match. After 27 played minutes, Lampa FC's Manuel Antonio Tejada shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Claudio Ventura came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lampa FC reached it. In the 28th match minute, Carora was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Amezqueta to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes into the match, Lampa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Amezqueta came free, but Luciano Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudio Ventura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeo Arduengo in the 36th minute of the match. Ricard Languard blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luciano Brito having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Francisco Puyo during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Amadeo Arduengo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amadeo Arduengo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Claudio Ventura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amadeo Arduengo in the 54th minute of play. Fernán Encalada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Ventura having to interfere. Claudio Ventura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernán Encalada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
