Genaro Barreau took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 4th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mohamed Esquivel. Magallanes's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 6th minute Xulián Puebla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohamed Esquivel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eustaquio Obanos in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Faustino San Miguel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard shot 17 in the game by Filomeno Marx from a close distance when the talented Mohamed Esquivel managed to make a qualified save. Magallanes's players were relieved. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eustaquio Obanos during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eustaquio Obanos in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Faustino San Miguel saved Curaco from getting behind. Xulián Puebla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonides Bahamonde in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Faustino San Miguel saved Curaco from getting behind. In the 29th minute, Curaco's Xulián Puebla ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mohamed Esquivel. Mohamed Esquivel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Leoncio Ascue hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute Eustaquio Obanos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustino San Miguel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faustino San Miguel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonides Bahamonde in the 37th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Eustaquio Obanos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Faustino San Miguel was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xulián Puebla in the 40th minute of play forced Magallanes's goalkeeper Mohamed Esquivel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Javiero Alenk got his second yellow card in the match during the 40th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Leonides Bahamonde took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Faustino San Miguel to make any attempt to save it. Leonides Bahamonde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Leoncio Ascue managed to get in a good position for a shot. Magallanes's supporters rose to their feet, but Leoncio Ascue was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Faustino San Miguel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Leonides Bahamonde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th match minute, Curaco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genaro Barreau to maneuver through the defense. Leonides Bahamonde's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Faustino San Miguel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. When Magallanes's Leonides Bahamonde in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Mohamed Esquivel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filomeno Marx, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 87 minutes into the match, Curaco's goal looked a bit too open when Leoncio Ascue came free, but Faustino San Miguel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maurino Tinoco's late challenge caught a Magallanes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maurino Tinoco helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Magallanes booed when Curaco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurino Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filomeno Marx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Mohamed Esquivel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Magallanes players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Curaco.
