Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernesto Daniel Ovalle in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leovigildo Barrenechea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ernesto Daniel Ovalle did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Leovigildo Barrenechea 24 minutes into the match. Pepe Cordoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marc Benavente in the 28th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Ernesto Daniel Ovalle reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Leovigildo Barrenechea. The goal made the score 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Valparaiso United's zone, Viviano Languard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leovigildo Barrenechea came out of the goal and Viviano Languard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the match, Ernesto Daniel Ovalle dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Leovigildo Barrenechea, 3-0. The audience was convinced that Ernesto Daniel Ovalle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leovigildo Barrenechea was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. Colo- Colo S.A's Ernesto Daniel Ovalle got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

A collision led to Valparaiso United getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Xavi Daldos hit a great ball. Viviano Languard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leovigildo Barrenechea having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Ernesto Daniel Ovalle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leovigildo Barrenechea was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Viviano Languard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leovigildo Barrenechea came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Colo- Colo S.A's Ernesto Daniel Ovalle. But to his dismay, Ernesto Daniel Ovalle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Viviano Languard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 75thth minute of the game Ernesto Daniel Ovalle who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Valparaiso United's Leovigildo Barrenechea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Plácido Andraca fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valparaiso United's protests and gave Plácido Andraca a yellow card for diving instead. Plácido Andraca kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Ernesto Daniel Ovalle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leovigildo Barrenechea having to interfere. Leovigildo Barrenechea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto Daniel Ovalle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
