When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Romualdo Lacunza put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of José Alejandro Duble. Romualdo Lacunza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. José Alejandro Duble tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norbert Czermak in the 18th minute of play forced Caballeros Cruzados's goalkeeper José Alejandro Duble to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Alejandro Duble stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romualdo Lacunza's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. José Alejandro Duble took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romualdo Lacunza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romualdo Lacunza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Alejandro Duble having to interfere. Romualdo Lacunza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Norbert Czermak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romualdo Lacunza took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Alejandro Duble. Romualdo Lacunza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 40 minutes, Carlos Hernán Lemus mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Horno and the Caballeros Cruzados players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Caballeros Cruzados booed when Horno was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Hernán Lemus didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Alejandro Duble showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Hernán Lemus, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After the first half Horno were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 74 minutes, Alcides Munita mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caballeros Cruzados and the Horno players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 74th minute, Alcides Munita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute of the match Vasco Aragón sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elias Aninat skillfully saved the ball. In the 78th minute Romualdo Lacunza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Alejandro Duble saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Hernán Lemus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Romualdo Lacunza, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 89 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The José Alejandro Duble was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Norbert Czermaks short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got José Alejandro Duble to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 94th minute Alcides Munita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elias Aninat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
