After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Máximo Canto managed to get in a good position for a shot. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan María Tinoco couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Alipio Bernales made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alipio Bernales in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonatán Losada saved Católica Universidad from getting behind. Echedey Lantadilla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Jonatán Losada made a huge save. Abelardo Amorini charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abelardo Amorini the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Católica Universidad's zone, Echedey Lantadilla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. In the 67th minute, Alipio Bernales got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Echedey Lantadilla struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Jonatán Losada didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Huequecura FC. Alipio Bernales succeeded in the game's 84th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. Católica Universidad's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Alipio Bernales scored to the left of an out of position Jonatán Losada, making the score, 2-3. During the 91st minute of the match Anastasio Garachena completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Anastasio Garachena a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Anastasio Garachena hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The Católica Universidad supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Huequecura FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Huequecura FC.
