Osvaldo Zambón came out of the goal and Ariano Galván tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ariano Galván came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the VfB Stuttgart fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ariano Galván couldn't finish the play. Dionisio Gartsman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Wittemberg in the 40th minute of play. Osvaldo Zambón didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ariano Galván went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score.

Mercé Wilson hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After having played for 56 minutes, Ariano Galván managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VfB Stuttgart's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ariano Galván was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Osvaldo Zambón took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ariano Galván, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Osvaldo Zambón managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when VfB Stuttgart's Ariano Galván fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Marcos Francisco Polloni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Zambón having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Calvino Iturribalzaga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute Francisco Antonio Ojier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dionisio Gartsman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. VfB Stuttgart's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
